Filter Coffeehouse & Espresso Bar!

My current visit to Washington D.C. has been great. I want to share my favorite place with all of you.  I found Filter while getting lost in the city and quickly became a regular. The latte was so smooth and was topped with a beautiful foamy design. The bike-friendly coffeehouse has a trendy, retro style decor that is  completely inviting.  Back at home I frequent Starbucks almost daily, but here in D.C. I wouldn't dare. Filter Coffeehouse & Espresso Bar is the place to go in D.C.

Caramel Popcorn!

Caramel popcorn is one of my boyfriend's dad's favorite things. For his birthday I thought I would make him some homemade caramel popcorn.  It is a time consuming process but is overall very easy to do. The popcorn comes out sweet and crunchy and is wayyy better than anything that can be bought in the store! Try it out! Here is the recipe, let me know what you think!

Vintage Jewelry Frame!

I have been trying to decide on a creative way to display my jewelry where people can see it rather than having it all stuffed in a drawer.  I knew I wanted it hanging on the wall and when I saw this creative idea for hanging sunglasses, I decided do the same thing for my jewelry but on a larger scale.  I went to a few of my local antique shops and after a little bit of searching, found an inexpensive but pretty frame.  I measured how I wanted the wire distributed and attached three different wires across the frame using screws.  On the third wire, closest to the bottom, I created a hook where the wire can be unattached from the frame to hang rings and bracelets that don't have a clasp. I am very happy with the finished product and I hope you guys give it a try!

Blueberry Dumplings!

Now that the fall quarter is over, I once again have extra time to do the things I enjoy doing.  This time I decided to make Blueberry Dumplings!  I really wanted something that was warm and comforting and that is exactly what I got!  The recipe turned out good but was a little too sweet for my personal taste. If I made it again I would probably cut the sugar down a little bit to allow the blueberry's natural flavor to show through. It was a relatively simple recipe to follow and I challenge you to try this recipe out for yourself with your own modifications. Here is the recipe if you would like to take a try at perfecting this interesting recipe.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Around this time of the year, pumpkin flavored foods can be found just about everywhere. The other day I felt the need to join in on the craze by making pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  I was very pleased with the way they came out.  The cookies had a soft cakey texture and were filled with a delicious pumpkiny, cinnamony, chocolatey flavor.  If you get the craving for a pumpkin flavored treat, whip these up real quick, you wont be disappointed. If you want to try these out, here is the recipe!

Churro Bites!

The other day Steven (boyfriend) suggested that I try to make churros for my blog, as you can see, I agreed.  They were supposed to be regular sized churros, but i decided that it would be more fun and cute to make them bite size! I was surprised to see that the ingredients to make churros are very simple, I had everything in my pantry so there was no need to make a trip to the store (love when that happens). Anyways, the churros turned out great based on the fact that they disappeared as fast as I was making them, there was only four left to eat after all was said and done.  These are a quick and easy dessert that can be made on a whim and create great satisfaction! Here is the recipe, try it out for yourself!
