Vintage Jewelry Frame!

I have been trying to decide on a creative way to display my jewelry where people can see it rather than having it all stuffed in a drawer.  I knew I wanted it hanging on the wall and when I saw this creative idea for hanging sunglasses, I decided do the same thing for my jewelry but on a larger scale.  I went to a few of my local antique shops and after a little bit of searching, found an inexpensive but pretty frame.  I measured how I wanted the wire distributed and attached three different wires across the frame using screws.  On the third wire, closest to the bottom, I created a hook where the wire can be unattached from the frame to hang rings and bracelets that don't have a clasp. I am very happy with the finished product and I hope you guys give it a try!
Enjoy!

Blueberry Dumplings!

Now that the fall quarter is over, I once again have extra time to do the things I enjoy doing.  This time I decided to make Blueberry Dumplings!  I really wanted something that was warm and comforting and that is exactly what I got!  The recipe turned out good but was a little too sweet for my personal taste. If I made it again I would probably cut the sugar down a little bit to allow the blueberry's natural flavor to show through. It was a relatively simple recipe to follow and I challenge you to try this recipe out for yourself with your own modifications. Here is the recipe if you would like to take a try at perfecting this interesting recipe.
Enjoy!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Around this time of the year, pumpkin flavored foods can be found just about everywhere. The other day I felt the need to join in on the craze by making pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  I was very pleased with the way they came out.  The cookies had a soft cakey texture and were filled with a delicious pumpkiny, cinnamony, chocolatey flavor.  If you get the craving for a pumpkin flavored treat, whip these up real quick, you wont be disappointed. If you want to try these out, here is the recipe!

Churro Bites!

The other day Steven (boyfriend) suggested that I try to make churros for my blog, as you can see, I agreed.  They were supposed to be regular sized churros, but i decided that it would be more fun and cute to make them bite size! I was surprised to see that the ingredients to make churros are very simple, I had everything in my pantry so there was no need to make a trip to the store (love when that happens). Anyways, the churros turned out great based on the fact that they disappeared as fast as I was making them, there was only four left to eat after all was said and done.  These are a quick and easy dessert that can be made on a whim and create great satisfaction! Here is the recipe, try it out for yourself!

Chocolate Puddle Cookies!

I was looking for a quick and simple recipe to make for dessert the other night, I wanted something in the form of a chocolaty cookie, and that is exactly what I found. There are only a few ingredients included in this recipe, the main ones being walnuts, confectioners sugar and egg whites, sounds funny right? I was skeptical that putting them together would even make an edible cookie, but sure enough they did.  After trial and error in respects to the baking process, a great tasting cookie emerged. The cookie was gooey, nutty and delicious.  If you want to try these cookies you can find the recipe here!
Enjoy!

ps...I had some issues with the cooking time.  It really varies (as stated in the recipe) if you cook them too little, they will stick to the parchment and are far too gooey, I experienced this issue with the first batch.  If they are cooked too long, they will crumble.  Whether these cookies turn out correctly depends directly on your own perception of their doneness...they should look how the picture does (above) nice and glossy with many cracks.  It took me messing up one batch for me to get them right. Im sorry for the vague instructions.

Cranberry Orange Scones!

A few days ago i made an attempt to bake coconut pineapple scones...and failed.  I don't know if it was the recipe or the ingredients I used (i changed some ingredients in the recipe) but instead of creating a dozen individual scones, the recipe came out more like one giant scone, I was not pleased.  To redeem myself, I decided to bake cranberry orange scones! I am very happy to say that the recipe was a success!  The scones came out light, flakey, and satisfyingly sweet. After they baked and cooled, they were topped with a sweet orange glaze, which made them even better.  If you enjoy eating scones, I really suggest that you try this recipe out, they are simple to make and come out very delicious.  Here is the recipe if you want to try them out!
Enjoy!
XOXO

ps...if you decide to bake these, make sure you watch them as they reach the end of their cooking time. They tended to over bake if I did not watch them closely.

ps again...the picture quality is not that great, I made these at night time so the lighting was not the best. My apologies!

A Treat For Our Furry Friends

I have been interested in attempting to make dog treats for a really long time, but most of the recipes that I have come across contained really strange ingredients that I had no idea where to find. The other day I, once again, got the itch to make something for my crazy collection of dogs and thats when I came across this recipe.  The treats were so simple to make and I had all of the ingredients for the cookies in my pantry!  The main ingredients were carrots, bananas and apples, some of my dogs favorite "human" foods.  After they baked and cooled I gave them to the experts for tasting, they were a success! My dogs loved them and the best part was that I actually knew what my dogs were eating, which is far less than what I can say for most store bought treats! Here is the recipe, try making homemade treats for your dogs, I am sure they will be very grateful.
Enjoy!
